The land-art installation nature sanctuary created by Hermann de Vries between 199 and 2003 shows the process of reclaiming abandoned ruins by nature. Everything changes, life is in constant change and metamorphosis, our traces are ephemeral. The Roche Rousse Nature Sanctuary surrounds an abandoned forest house and is itself surrounded by a sacred wood as it was in ancient pagan times. The artist has placed spikes marked with the word "silence" to invite respect for this sanctuary.
